Why is it good to study music?

Music helps balance the development of the right and left sides of the brain.

Ordinary school education emphasizes the development of the left side of the brain more than the right side. Children’s overall development is thus limited by such an education. Studying music stimulates the development of the right side of the brain, so the development of both sides are balanced.
